An interactive treat into the culinary culture of Assam. This booklet documents a thought, born under the pressure to answer a student’s question, that “Why is it necessary to study the aesthetics of Indian Thali?”. Further questioning the outcome of such an effort, even before it is studied or explored.

At times, it becomes difficult to answer the questions of audiences, who are eagerly worried about the outcome, rather than enjoying the act of exploring unvisited areas. Apart from inductive and deductive ways of arriving at a design solution exploration has to be understood as a process involving curiosity, based on assumptions. Let it not be suppressed by the thought of predetermining conclusions or demanding a rationale even before one begins the work.

One has to understand the act of exploration as that of a free and open mind, which can re-frame/ revisit scenarios rather than answer them. Such mindsets can position us, to look at the problem from different perspectives and lead us to find new answers.
